Last month I spent ten days in one of my favourite hotels, in my favourite winter resort – the Westin Hotel in Whistler – for my annual snowboarding holiday.
There is something so magical about snow. Walking around Whistler village or up the Whistler or Blackcomb mountains. And there was 44cms on fresh snow in 48 hours straight after we arrived!
The hotel is next to both mountain gondolas and in the centre of the excitement of Whistler Village. And at the end of a day on the mountain I can’t wait to jump in the outdoor pool and hot spa, and then relax in your room in front of the log fire.
The children spent each day in Whistler Kids (which I can’t praise enough), my 8 year old daughter snowboarding, and my 5 year old little boy skiing. They look so cute on their board and skis. This is the second year for both of them, and with my husband and I loving snowboarding, we are so pleased to see both of them taking it up. Watching my little princess speeding down the mountain I sometimes think she is a better shredder than all of us! I only wish we could have stayed longer.
On the fashion side, nearly all my snowboarding clothing is from Roxy, with a couple of pieces from O’Neill, two great surf and snow brands I have loved since being a teenager. And this season I also had my Helmut Hugger to wear (see my post Snow Style from 4th August 2014).
I can’t wait to get back in the Canadian snow again next season.
