My current Chanel shoe obsession
I finally have a pair of the classic Chanel slingbacks!
They have been on my wish list for so long but unfortunately they were quite expensive. So you can imagine how excited I was to open my husband’s birthday present to me in December and there they were – in beige with a black toe.
They really are such a classic. In 1957, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel introduced the two-tone slingback shoe; 58 years later Karl Lagerfeld brought it back on the runway for Autumn/Fall ’15. Since then I have seen more and more people wearing them.
Timeless classics you can wear at any age and still look stylish. Mademoiselle Chanel designed a shoe that could be worn with all outfits and at all times of the day. It is such a practical shoe that looks amazing. My mum certainly approves!
Since opening that box I have been obsessed. I love the versatility, the Parisian feel and the fact I’m wearing heels but could almost be flats.
As you would have seen from models and other bloggers on Instagram they look great with dresses, jeans, shorts, cropped trousers, in fact with nearly every outfit. I am particulary fond of this dress from Shein, as it has a real Chanel’esq about it. The shoes match perfectly! Here is the link to the dress.
Although pricey, they are absolutely worth the investment. If you are looking for something similar that is more affordable there are lots of options on the high street.
I would love your feedback and please let me know your favourite way to style them.
