Travel Essentials

Following my recent trip I wanted to share my travel essentials with you.

Coming from the UK and living in Australia I am lucky that I get to travel a fair bit. I love to fly and was so lucky to have been cabin crew for British Airways, getting to see and spend time in so many beautiful and historic cities, and great resorts.

It is a very different experience traveling long-haul now with two children, compared to when it was just me and my husband. Saying that, they love flying and going away.

Here are my travel essentials and travel outfit:

On the plane, I like to feel comfortable and relaxed. If I’m lucky enough to be with Qantas in their Business Class then they provide you with fantastic Peter Morrissey pyjamas and a Kate Spade wash bag. I put the PJs on straight away and spend the whole flight in them until just before landing (when we go to London the first leg to Dubai is 14 hours then after refueling another 7 hours to Heathrow).

Otherwise I like to wear comfortable clothes that, whilst looking simple, still look ‘put-together’ and chic. Skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans, shirt and trainers – usually my Isabel Marant’s or Nike Air Max’s. I have had my LV Keepall for over 10 years and it is such a good bag. I can fit so much in it and is an easy carry-on option. And, as a finishing touch I always take a good scarf with me, which not only looks good, but keeps me warm in the plane.

When it comes to packing my carry-on, essentials for me are a moisturiser, lip balm and eye gel. My lips, skin and eyes get dry with the aircon on those long flights, so these keep me comfortable and looking presentable when I land. My favourite skin care essentials are from Sisley Paris. Their Botanical Eye and Lip Contour Balm and Global Pefect Pore Minimiser are brilliant . My make up bag has the critical lipstick (Boots No7 Plum Beautiful!) and Maybelline Mascara for use before landing.

And my final essential is a big pair of dark sunglasses. My favourites from my last trip were my Burberry ones.

Have a great trip wherever you’re going!

Such a great post, Abbey! Being from Europe myself and living in the US I can totally relate to you! We travel quite a bit ourselves. I love your Burberry sunglasses and I agree they are a must when traveling! Love you!
    xoxo, Vanessa
