Since I can remember I have loved a good matching set!
I think I got it from my mum who I would go shopping with to Marks and Spencer, Debenham’s, Principles and Next, and she would always get herself, and me and my sister, matching sets with a cardigan.
But matching sets have come along way since then.
If you’re one of those people, like me sometimes, who never knows what to wear, often in hurry and not have time to properly get a look together, this is such an easy solution.
Going ‘match matchy’ is actually really logical, and is both chic and can be worn in so many ways. And you can wear this all year round.
I have watched the spring collections in the northern hemisphere this year feature some fabulous matching sets. Maybe this is as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and people working from home and looking for comfy yet stylish lounge wear. Some of my favourite brands have all had them in their collections, for example British label All Saints and Australian label Decjuba, to name but two.
My top and shorts are from Rag and Bone. As regular readers will have noticed, a lot of my wardrobe is made up of Rag and Bone, All Saints and Decjuba!
Not only is this set super comfortable but it’s cute and lux. I love the vintage varsity look, the classic relaxed, slouchy fit and the colour. My set also comes in a neutral beige, but that would be too light on my pale skin. As soon as I saw this set I wanted it and loved the navy colour!
I paired this set with a pair of trainers but it would look equally good with espadrilles and slides. It’s great to wear out and at home for an effortless vibe. Perfect for a coffee, breakfast or lunch with the girls – this outfit is a must for any city wardrobe. You could wear a t-shirt underneath the cardigan or just the top on its own. It depends on the weather and temperature. The good thing about styling sets like this is that you could really try anything – and its cross seasonal.
I would love to hear your comments on matching sets and how you have been wearing and styling them.
